1) Jumper Cables or a Jumper Box
A set of jumper cables is essential for every car owner to have in their vehicle at all times. If possible, a jumper box is an even better tool for drivers to keep in their vehicles. Jumper cables and jumper boxes can both be used to jump start vehicles that have dead batteries. While no driver leaves their home expecting that the battery of their car will die, a car's battery can die unexpectedly, preventing a driver from being able to start their vehicle. A set of jumper cables, however, allows a driver to use another vehicle to provide power to their dead vehicle, ultimately allowing the vehicle to start. Similarly, jumper boxes are able to provide power to dead car batteries without the need for other vehicles.
2) Jerry Can
A jerry can is simply a container that is used to hold fuel. If you are always aware of how much fuel is in your vehicle and are vigilant in refueling your vehicle, then you may not need to keep a jerry can in your vehicle. However, a jerry can is a great tool for you to have in your vehicle just in case you ever run out of fuel. Jerry cans are designed to hold gasoline and will not break down in their composition while you bring the gasoline to your vehicle to refuel it. Jerry cans come in a variety of sizes, so you should get the size that you feel comfortable carrying in your vehicle.
3) Owner's Manual
The owner's manual of your vehicle has very important information about your vehicle and can be very useful if your vehicle has a problem that you cannot immediately identify. In your vehicle's owner's manual, you will find information about maintaining your vehicle and the features that the vehicle has to offer. Additionally, you will be able to learn how to use your vehicle's many features from its owner's manual. Keep the owner's manual of your vehicle in a safe location so that you can access the information when you need it. If you don't have access to the physical copy of your vehicle's owner's manual, then you can access a copy of the manual online.
4) Spare Tire
Most vehicles come with spare tires. However, some vehicles don't, especially if they are equipped with run-flat tires. You should always keep a spare tire in your vehicle if it doesn't have run-flat tires so that you can continue to drive if one of your vehicle's tires goes flat. Spare tires aren't designed for long-term or high-speed use, so you will need to repair or replace the damaged tire of your vehicle as soon as you can. If you need to purchase a spare tire to keep in your vehicle, then find one in a size that closely matches the size of the wheels that are currently on your vehicle.
5) Roadside Emergency Kit
A roadside emergency kit can reduce the amount of stress that you feel during an emergency situation while you are on the road. Roadside emergency kits are sold pre-assembled, but you can also build your own emergency kit. You can include whatever items in your kit that you believe will be necessary for you if you have an emergency, such as water or extra clothes. Roadside flares, a flashlight, and a phone charger are a few items that you should consider including in your roadside emergency kit.
